As the lights came up in the small studio, Jamie-Kate felt a mixture of exhilaration and dread wash over her. She had just finished shooting one of the most intense scenes of her career, and now it was time for the post-mortem with her director, Boss Girl.
Walking into the room, Jamie-Kate caught sight of herself in the mirror. Her body was sheened with sweat, her makeup was running, and there was a fresh bruise beginning to form on her thigh. She gave herself a shaky smile, trying to compose herself for whatever Boss Girl had in store for her.
"Alright, baby doll. Let's hear it," Boss Girl said coolly, leaning back in her chair with a notebook and pen poised.
Jamie-Kate took a deep breath. "I think... I think it came across how crazy I was feeling. How much I wanted him, even though he was cruel to me. I hope so, anyway."
Boss Girl nodded. "It did come across. But there's one thing we need to work on." She paused, her eyes narrowing. "Your reactions. They weren't... realistic enough."
A stab of anxiety went through Jamie-Kate. "Really? I thought I did pretty good. I was trying to stay in character."
Boss Girl stood up, towering over her. "Character isn't just about saying lines, baby doll. It's about feeling them, living them. If you can't do that, you're just an actress going through the motions."
Jamie-Kate felt tears prick at the back of her eyes. "I am trying! I just don't know how to make myself feel more... more emotional, I guess."
Boss Girl walked over to her, standing close enough that Jamie-Kate could feel her warm breath on her neck. "You'll figure it out. And when you do, we'll have something really special here."
She stepped back, looking Jamie-Kate up and down. "Now, turn around and bend over the chair. I want to see how that position looks on camera."
For a moment, Jamie-Kate hesitated. Then, slowly, she turned around and complied, biting her lip as she felt her skirt rise up and her ass cheeks part.
"Good girl," Boss Girl purred. "Now, remember this feeling. Use it when you're on camera next time. Make me believe that you're truly helpless, truly at his mercy. Because, baby doll, if you can't, you're not going to go very far in this business."
The words hit Jamie-Kate like a fist to the gut. But she nodded, determination rising up within her. She had to be better. She had to prove herself.
"I understand," she said hoarsely. "I won't let you down, Boss Girl."
And with that, she turned and walked out of the room, her mind already whirling with thoughts of the next scene, the next challenge. This time, she would leave nothing on the table. She would make Boss Girl proud.
