As Anna entered the small bathroom, she glanced over at her friend Abby who was already inside, sitting on the small wooden stool. The potty had always been a source of anxiety for both of them, but they knew it was necessary. Anna watched as Abby leaned forward slightly, her small tummy pushing out against her pink t-shirt.
"Take your time, Abby," Anna said softly, trying to sound reassuring. She couldn't help but feel a pang of nervous anticipation as she undid her pants and lowered herself onto the cold, hard toilet seat. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, and then began to push out the long, wet splattery turds that had been building up inside her. The sound of liquid hitting the water below was almost soothing, and she let out a soft grunt of relief as she finished.
"My turn," Abby murmured, still leaning forward on the stool. Anna could see the shine of sweat on her friend's forehead, and she knew she must be feeling uncomfortable. She offered a comforting smile and watched as Abby shifted slightly on the stool before leaning forward again, this time with much more force.
There was a soft gasp from Abby as she began to push out large, soft diarrhea onto the toilet paper. She grimaced, her face screwed up in concentration, and Anna could tell it was taking all of her effort to control herself. The smell of feces began to fill the small room, and Anna's stomach clenched at the sharp odor.
"Hang in there, Abby," she whispered, her hand resting lightly on her friend's shoulder. It was obvious that Abby was struggling, but there was nothing Anna could do to help speed up the process. All she could do was wait and hope that this was the worst of it.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Abby sat back, gasping for air. She wiped the sweat from her brow with her free hand and glanced over at Anna, a rueful smile on her face. "I think I made a mess this time," she said, nodding towards the toilet paper which was streaked with shit.
Anna nodded solemnly. "It's okay, Abby. Let's just focus on cleaning up for now." Together they pulled off the soiled toilet paper and rinsed the spots of feces from their hands. Then, with a deep breath, Anna placed the paper back into the toilet bowl and gave a hard tug, flushing the mess away.
After the last traces of the mess had disappeared down the drain, the girls stood up, feeling slightly sick but also relieved. They hugged briefly, murmuring words of comfort and encouragement before heading back out into the fresh air. As they walked hand-in-hand, Anna vowed to do everything she could to make sure that Abby never had to go through that experience alone again.
